The DiAGSure® Encephalitis Panel (15 Pathogens) is a comprehensive multiplex real-time PCR assay designed for the rapid and accurate detection of the most common viral and bacterial pathogens associated with encephalitis. The panel targets 10 neurotropic viruses—HSV-1, HSV-2, CMV, EBV, VZV, HHV-6, HHV-7, Parechovirus, Adenovirus, Enterovirus, Parvovirus B19—and 5 critical bacteria including Neisseria meningitidis, Listeria spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Haemophilus influenzae. These pathogens are known to cause severe inflammation of the brain, often presenting with fever, headache, altered mental status, seizures, or coma. The panel enables early diagnosis, guiding appropriate antiviral or antibiotic therapy and improving outcomes, especially in vulnerable populations such as neonates, elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
