Intent To Use:
Rubella, caused by the Rubella virus (Rubivirus rubellae), is a mild infection often unnoticed by half of those affected. The virus belongs to the Matonaviridae family, with a single-stranded RNA genome. Symptoms typically appear two weeks after exposure and include a rash starting on the face, swollen lymph nodes, fever, sore throat, and joint pain, especially in adults. In pregnancy, rubella infection can lead to congenital rubella syndrome (CRS), causing cataracts, deafness, and heart or brain issues in the newborn. Rubella spreads through respiratory droplets, and individuals are contagious before and after the rash appears. The DiAGSure® Rubella Detection kit provides rapid, accurate detection of rubella virus, enabling reliable diagnostics for clinical management and prevention of CRS in both adults and children.
