Intent to use:

HSV-1 typically causes oral lesions, while HSV-2 is associated with genital herpes; both can be transmitted through direct contact. VZV causes chickenpox in primary infection and can later reactivate as shingles. These viruses can lead to severe complications in immunocompromised individuals and newborns, especially when infections occur during pregnancy. Maternal transmission of HSV or VZV can result in congenital infections with serious outcomes, including neurological damage and neonatal herpes.
