Chikungunya TaqMan PCR Kit

DiAGSure® Chikungunya TaqMan PCR Kit

Intended Use:
The DiAGSure® Chikungunya TaqMan PCR Kit is an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) test involving TaqMan chemistry intended for the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), an arthropod-borne virus (Arbovirus), endemic in parts of Africa and Asia. CHIKV belongs to the genus Alphavirus of the family Togaviridae. It is a small, enveloped, spherical virus with a positive single strand RNA genome of approximately 12 kbp. CHIKV infections in human are characterized by febrile illness, rash and polyarthralgia, which can progress to a chronic disease. Global changes, like climate or mobility, favour the spread of arboviruses and lead to increasing numbers of arbovirus-caused diseases. RT-qPCR testing of human serum or plasma is a highly sensitive means of CHIKV detection. The DiAGSure® Chikungunya TaqMan PCR Kit is intended for the detection of Chikungunya virus in human plasma and serum samples. The kit detects the E1 glycoprotein gene of Chikungunya virus. This two-plex PCR includes an RNase-P internal control (IC) in a single- tube reaction. system.
