Intent to use:
Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1), a lentivirus from the Retroviridae family, is the primary cause of global HIV infections. It attacks the immune system by targeting CD4+ T cells, leading to progressive immunodeficiency and, if untreated, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). HIV-1 is highly transmissible through blood, sexual contact, and from mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding. Symptoms range from flu-like illness during acute infection to opportunistic infections and cancers in advanced stages. Due to its high mutation rate, early and precise detection is crucial for effective treatment and monitoring. The DiAGSure® HIV-1 Detection RT-PCR Kit provides highly sensitive and specific identification of HIV-1 RNA, ensuring accurate diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and improved clinical outcomes through early intervention.
