The Cancer Biology Division in GCC Biotech is focused on the development of Real-time PCR (RT-PCR)-based kits for lung, breast, prostate, colorectal, pancreatic, brain, oral cancer and leukemia to identify their specific bio markers. We are targeting driver mutations that is responsible for causing cancer. Some of the oncogenes include KRAS, NRAS, BRAF, EGFR, c-KIT, RET, EGFR, PDGFR, BRCA1/2, IDH1/2, PIK3CA, FLT3 genes and different type of gene fusions like BCR-ABL, PML-RARA, ALK-EML4, TEL-AML1, MLL-AF4 etc. We are also developing Taqman based RT-PCR kits for checking the expression of genes that are over-expressed in cancer conditions (HER2 in breast, PSA & PSCA in prostrate, b2 microglobulin in myeloma) etc. The flowchart of our cancer specific detection kit is given below:
