DNA Gel Loading Dye is a specially formulated mixture designed to simplify DNA sample loading and tracking during agarose gel electrophoresis. It contains density agents for smooth well loading and tracking dyes—Bromophenol Blue, Orange G, and Xylene Cyanol—each migrating at characteristic speeds to monitor the electrophoretic run in both TAE and TBE buffers.
Bromophenol Blue migrates with 250–400 bp fragments.
Orange G runs ahead, aligning with ~50–80 bp DNA fragments.
Xylene Cyanol moves slowly, corresponding to large 3–5 kb fragments.
Single-dye, double-dye, and triple-dye formulations offer flexibility for different applications, from small amplicon analysis to high-molecular-weight DNA separation. These dyes provide clear visualization, ensure precise tracking, and improve the reliability of DNA fragment analysis across research and diagnostic workflows.
